Warspear Online is a fantasy online role-playing game with a cartoony 2D visual style inspired by classic Japanese RPGs. Choose from 6 different character classes divided among 2 factions, then head out to level up by fighting enemies, exploring dungeons, and crafting items. PvP is a major part of the game, with battles featuring hundreds of players a side.
It says 'war' right in the name, after all
Most of Warspear Online will be familiar if you've played other MMOs, from the relatively simple combat system in which you automatically make your standard attack but can use other skills, to the time-consuming grinding. The graphics, inspired by 16-bit era games, are charming, although the pixelated faces can be a little expressionless. This game is designed for multi-platform play, so the mobile-friendly controls may seem simple to players used to more fully-featured PC-native MMO control schemes. The social aspect of guild formation plays a big role in this game, making it a good one to play with a dedicated group of friends. Like most mobile MMOs, this one features a currency mechanic which can feel intrusive and unbalanced.
For a certain type of MMO player
If you like retro-influenced art and music, Warspear Online might be worth checking out. However, you have to be aware that this is a heavily PvP-focused game. If that's not your cup of tea, avoid it.
